I love when the clocks spring forward and we get more daylight at the end of the day, but these first few days can mess up your REM sleep… (Pro Tip: Sleep Supplements)
I even made sure I went to sleep at my normal bedtime last night just after 8:00 pm (lights out by 8:30) even though it still felt like 7:00 pm, especially because Janell, Badger, and I slept in pretty late (for us) yesterday morning.
By the way, if you have trouble falling asleep, I love me some Eniva Natural Sleep Supplements! I’ve been taking it for years now and it’s the best sleep aid for deep sleep!
If you’re one of those people who tell me, “I just can’t fall asleep earlier, Justin.”
Well, first of all, turn off the damn TV sooner and put your phone away. You need to stop the blue light exposure at minimum an hour before you go to sleep.
Next, don’t try to go to sleep WAY earlier than normal.
If you’re an 11;00 pm person, start with a week of 10:45. Then a week of 10:30, and so on until you get to your goal time. That’s pretty much how I arrived at an 8:30 (8:15 if I can get Janell onboard) lights-out time.
Did you know that every hour of sleep before midnight is worth 2 hours of sleep to your adrenals? FYI, your adrenal glands produce hormones that help regulate your metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, response to stress, and other essential functions.
And, if you still struggle to fall asleep, give Natural Sleep Supplements a try for a month.
Back to the subject of daylight savings time for a minute…
It seems that nobody I know likes that the clock changes twice a year.
Pretty much everything I come across on the interwebs says it’s pointless.
It actually costs a bunch of money in lost productivity.
And, animals really don’t like it.
Yet, every year, twice a year, the conversation to put an end to it ensues and nothing happens.
We were just in Arizona. They don’t do it.
There are other countries that don’t do it.
So, then, why do we?
Just another one of those things that we do that we don’t want to do because we’ve always done it.
I’ll tell you what, if the administration wants a win that everyone would actually agree on, leaving the clocks as they are from now on would probably do it. 😉
