Even though we are navigating a unique season, I still feel as though there is gratitude and joy in each day if we look for it. The sun shining this morning on my walk was enough to allow me to feel gratitude for nature and the ability to move my body.
As we experience a myriad of emotions during this time, I encourage you to choose and find joy whenever you can.
So now for some of my favorites last month as we cozied up at home, and shifted how we serve our community and Transformation Club family…
Dave Hollis’s book “Get Out of Your Own Way,” I love this title and really enjoyed Dave’s humor and the stories in this book. I read it in just a couple of days!
Last month I read a couple of fiction books from two of my favorite authors. “Magic Hour” from Kristin Hannah and “The Lying Game” from Ruth Ware. I enjoyed both of them and look forward to reading more of their books.
Lots of inspirational sweaters to set a positive mood for the day. I get them from a variety of places, one of my favorites is a website called Rad Vibes Only. I’m also trying to dress in the way I would every other day whether I’m staying home or not. The good news is that I wear athletic clothes or what they call athleisure!
Another thing that I have been doing to get me going in the morning and to create a routine is to do a quick and easy 5 minute make-up routine. I enjoy the creativity of trying different looks and applying make-up. For several years I let all that go because I couldn’t find non-toxic make-up that was easy to use. Then I came across Beautycounter and my love returned 🙂
Flawless in Five is my absolute favorite!!! 6 products that you can put on in 5 minutes…it’s the BEST! I can also help you pick your products and colors PLUS if you are new to Beautycounter you can receive 20% OFF right now which is a crazy deal! send me a message through our contact form and I can help you and get you all the details!
Whatever we have 🙂 We are still practicing our foundational nutrition habits of eating protein and vegetables with each meal and we are doing the best we can with what we have in the house and what we have been able to get. Sometimes that means frozen veggies rather than fresh and that is OK.
I’m using this as an opportunity to clean out the freezer and get creative with what we have in the fridge and pantry. It’s kind of fun. Lunch has been pretty consistent with a salad of whatever we have on hand and we top it with Primal Kitchens dressing which we love!
I’ve also done a little bit of baking because why not? I focus on recipes that are lower in any kind of sugar and are free of inflammatory things like gluten and dairy. CLICK HERE for my favorite banana bread recipe.
LOTS of herbal tea. Two of my favorites from Republic of Tea are Stress Suppress and Serenity. They contain adaptogens like holy basil, tulsi, and rhodiola. I find that it helps with my focus and my stress response.
In addition to my supplements, everyday I have also been having 1 serving of Eniva Cold Buster in my water to boost my immune system.
I have also been enjoying some sparkling water. My favorite brand that doesn’t leave me feeling bloated is Spindrift. The grapefruit flavor is my jam!
I’m Relaxing By…
Taking a detox bath several times a week. I fill my bathtub with water that is pretty hot, add 2-4 cups of Epsom salt, 1-2 cups of baking soda, and my favorite essential oils. It is absolutely delightful and helps me wind down and relax before bed.
In April I’m looking forward to more walks in nature, focusing on what matters, spending time at home with Justin & Badger, connecting virtually with family and friends, and a couple of online events.
