Happy almost New Year! We’re ready to welcome 2021 and I’m excited to see what the next year brings.
Today I have gathered some of my favorite appetizer recipes for you. These are great for any gathering or simply a night in at home!
Justin and I will definitely be making an EPIC charcuterie board again this year. I head to our local co-op and get goat & sheep cheeses, a variety of meats, some fruit, and Against the Grain bread. A charcuterie board has been our go-to for the last few years around the holidays, especially at New Years. The great thing about a charcuterie board is you can customize it to what you like and it allows you to get creative. Here is one of our creations…
Check out the list below for some AMAZING healthy appetizer recipes you can have in mind when you need them. These are all gluten free, grain free, dairy free or can be made dairy free, and paleo.
Healthy Holiday Appetizers
Creamy Butternut Squash Pomegranate Dip from PaleOMG
I love just about anything with pomegranate seeds and if you don’t eat them honestly you are missing out! This recipe is great because it is free of gluten & dairy, yet you wouldn’t even know it! Serve with some veggies and grain free Simple Mills crackers to make it Paleo friendly.
Smoked Salmon Spread from Primal Palate
You can make this as an appetizer and use the leftovers in scrambled eggs…BONUS! This is also great served with veggies or gluten free crackers.
Buffalo Ranch Dip from Primal Palate
We love making this for game days to have as we enjoy some football. This dip goes best with celery sticks, but you can really use any cut up veggies.
Chicken Bacon Ranch Hummus Dip from Lexi’s Clean Kitchen
Hummus with added protein… yes, please! This is great because the chicken gives you added protein to help fill you up instead of consuming lots of processed carbohydrates.
Creamy Baked Spinach Artichoke Dip from Paleo Running Momma
Here is a dairy free spinach artichoke dip that tastes great. Adding nutritional yeast gives this a cheesy flavor so you don’t even miss the mounds of cheese that leave you feeling not so hot. Serving this dip with cut-up veggies will add even more fiber helping to keep you satisfied.
Superfood Enchilada Dip from Fit Foodie Finds
You can easily make this dip without cheese or go light on the cheese and it will still taste great… or if you want to add cheese, it will taste great too! Siete Grain Free tortilla chips would be great with this dip.
Dill Pickle Dip from PaleOMG
If you love pickles as I do then this dip is for you! It uses my favorite brand for dairy free alternatives, Kite Hill. Serve it with a couple of varieties of chips and some cut up veggies. You won’t miss the store-bought dips like the french onion dip I used to consume copious amounts of!
Bacon Wrapped Dark Chocolate & Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates from Ambitious Kitchen
You may think that bacon, dates, dark chocolate, and goat cheese do not go together and I am telling you, don’t knock it until you try it! It’s sweet, savory, and salty all at once…what more could you ask for!
Healthy Queso Dip from The Detoxinista
Cashews plus nutritional yeast make this queso a winner without dairy. My guess is you won’t even miss it, especially if you serve this with Siete Chips.
Greek Hummus Dip from The Real Food Dieticians
Another delicious version of hummus that can be made dairy free or with a lot less dairy. Personally, I would use dairy free Kite Hill greek yogurt and then add the crumbled feta. I find that I do better with cheeses like feta than I do with other dairy products. This is probably because of the casein and lactose content. This dip would pair great with Simple Mills Pita Crackers.
I wish you and yours a VERY happy and healthy holiday season!!!
