Lunges can be a tricky exercise & sometimes hard on the knees especially when they are not done properly.
Most people think that lunges work their quads (top of your thighs), when in reality lunges are a glute exercise (butt).
When you learn to do lunges & split squats properly you can strengthen your glutes which can help to support your low back. Having strong glutes will allow you to move and pick things up with ease and not hurt your back in the process.
Often our glutes are lazy and our quads take over when we do this exercise. It can take some training of the mind and the body, but when you do this correctly you will see and feel the results!
