We love this exercise to build up your core and upper body strength to perform bodyweight push-ups. It is wonderful for beginners or the person who is looking to be able to do their first push-up.
This is a much BETTER option to build strength both in your core and your upper body than doing push-ups on your knees. Using a band to assist you allows you to go through the entire range of motion. The heavier the resistance band the more help you will receive making push-ups easier.
It’s important to remember that push-ups are not just an upper-body exercise… they also require a strong core. They are an important exercise for overall functional fitness and health which is why we like to incorporate them into our training.
