Today I want to share with you some of my favorites from April. As we navigate this unique time, I have found that focusing on things I am grateful for and what I do have control over has been helpful.
I take each day as it comes and plant seeds of joy throughout the day. Last weekend during our Women’s Empowerment Event, I encouraged people to create a joy list. Write down things that bring you joy and then do at least one of those things every day. Imagine what that would do for your physical, emotional, and mental well being.
Here are a few of the things on my joy list:
- A morning walk with Justin & Badger
- Sipping a hot cup of tea while reading a good book
- Doing my skincare routine
- Making a delicious meal
- Taking a relaxing bath
- Working out
- Diffusing essential oils
- Connecting with friends & family – right now that has been virtually
You can create moments of joy throughout your day that don’t take a lot of time and that you can easily do. I truly believe it’s all about your perception of joy and if you choose to find it in what we would otherwise consider everyday moments.

I finished “The Death of Mrs. Westaway” by Ruth Ware this month. I have now read all of her books and I enjoy her as an author. I still think “The Woman in Cabin 10” was my favorite book that she wrote.
I have been loving the Venice Joggers from Athleta. They are so comfortable and feel like you are wearing pajamas yet you feel more put together than that.:-) For working out I am loving my Align pants from Lululemon.
Beautycounter launched their new All Bright C Serum this month and this has quickly become a new favorite for me. It has changed my skin…more even skin tone, skin looks brighter, and it has even reduced a dark spot that I have. This product is AMAZING!
I have a quick 5 minute make-up routine I have been doing most mornings and I feel like it helps me set the tone for the day. Here is what I have been using…
- Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer w/SPF
- Concealer Pen
- Brow Gel
- Bronzer in Dune
- Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Rose Glow
- Volumizing Mascara
- Lip Gloss in Rosewood
This may look like a lot and it really only takes me 5 minutes to apply and move on with my day. You can get a lot of these products in the Flawless in Five.
I’ve been trying some new recipes and getting creative some nights in the kitchen. We have been sticking with protein shakes and salads or leftovers for lunch. Justin will tell you I’ve had a few dinner “fails” lately and that is OK. Everything you or I make will not be a home run.
I did hit a home run with a dinner I made just this last week. I promise to post it in my Instagram stories the next time I make it! It was baked salmon, roasted asparagus, Cybele’s green lentil, cauliflower, & parsnip pasta, Seggiano Basil Pesto, and a little bit of goat cheese. YUM!!!
The pasta is from Thrive Market and the pesto from Whole Foods.
I watched Virgin River on Netflix and LOVED it!!! I am so excited for Season 2 to come out later this year. Be prepared to want to binge watch this show!

The ability to still host the Women’s Empowerment Event virtually and wear my new Fearless lipstick.
