On episode #59 of The Transformation Show, Janell and I talked about falling short on goals – – we both fell short on multiple goals, personally and professionally.
How you respond to falling short and what you do about it is REALLY important…
One thing (well, four) that we didn’t talk about are the 4 Blessings of Failure. In other words, ways to turn failure into something positive.
When you fail at something, you learn what doesn’t work. Trust that life is always happening for you, not to you. Your “failure” is simply a result of the fact that life knows precisely what you need to learn – a new skill or the development of new character – in order to accomplish your longer-term vision.
Often times our “failure” had to happen in order to redirect us to a new, better situation or opportunity… You’re being redirected from one relationship to another relationship, from one job to another job, from one location to another location…and you’re being redirected in a positive way.
If you make an effort to really reflect on a “failure” you may expose a limiting belief – the underlying reason you failed. Without recognizing that, you’d be doomed to have the same type of failure over and over.
Now that you’re aware of the decision (beliefs are decisions) you’ve made you can make a new empowering decision that will move you towards your goal!
Some of our greatest “failures” actually set us up for the blessings in life we have today. Our club, The Transformation Club, would not exist if it weren’t for some previous “epic failures.”
When you embrace the fact that life is ALWAYS happening for you, even when you can’t see it in the moment, you can take inspired action without the fear of failure…because, in reality, there’s no such thing. 🙂
So give it a shot! Think of something you labeled as a “failure” in your life and see that it was actually one or more of these four blessings. You may just start seeing everything you go through as something positive instead.
If you’d like to hear our personal stories, and how we went about changing our mindset to see more positives, give a listen to episode #59 of The Transformation Show.
